These are informal groups that have developed around a certain topic, such as poker, ladies night out, bookgroups, golf, or discovering new spots for breakfast lunch.

If you don't see something that sparks your interest, please feel free to contact us at any time to discuss starting a new interest group. We are always willing to add a new group if there is an activity you would like to pursue that we currently do not offer.

Absolutely! Join as many as you would like. In fact, most of our members participate in more than one activity.

When you fill out the online membership registration form, your interests will be forwarded to the group chairs. To join a new interest group at other times of the year, just contact Avon Newcomers!
Our current activity groups
Book Club
This casual group meets to discuss a book, enjoy drinks and some appetizers. There is no requirement to read the book!
Breakfast Club
This group meets at a variety of local coffee shops or restaurants to chat and have some caffeine. Children are welcome.
Bunco
Couples Bunco event coming in spring!
Cocktails & Conversation
Come socialize and make new friends over drinks and appetizers.
Doggie Dates
Dog lovers and their canine companions are invited to join us for a variety of meetups at dog-friendly venues, from dog-friendly bars to indoor and outdoor play dates. Dogs love Yappy Hour!
Kid Connections
Family Fun Nights, Small Wonders Playgroup, and more!
Ladies Night Out
Join the ladies for a fun night out on the town.
Lunch Bunch
Catch up with fellow newcomers over lunch once a month at a different restaurant in the Farmington Valley.
Members Helping Members
This group helps members who have just had a baby, surgery or are otherwise in need.
Men's Poker Nights
A fun and informal game night.
Trail Mix
A mix of all things fitness. From walking to running, barre to yoga, skiing, golf and everything in between.
